by Giulia Piermartiri and Edoardo Delille
The Mont Blanc massif has become a symbol of climate change. The Planpincieux glacier – among the most affected by this issue – looms over the inhabitants of Val Ferret. Flowering Heights was taken in this valley. In the images two different temporal realities are merged to stimulate a reflection on how we have always known the mountain landscape and its winter activities and how these will change in very few years.
Giulia Piermartiri was born in Italy in 1990. Her work focuses on issues related to climate change and how communities will react to the metamorphosis of their homeland.
Edoardo Delille (Firenze, 1974) started his career in fashion and has then shifted to portrait and documentary photography. His work has been shown in galleries and festivals worldwide.
They exhibited at Images Vevey in 2020.
